Challenge
Financial abuse within small businesses is an under-recognised issue, with limited services available to support victim-survivors. EACH, funded by the Commonwealth Bank’s Next Chapter Initiative, sought to scope and co-design a national service model to address this gap.
Approach
CIS consulted with more than 35 stakeholders to understand existing support services, and service gaps. Key findings from consultations and literature review were synthesised into a scoping report.
Key findings were presented in three co-design workshops with professionals and victim-survivors for validation and co-design the recommendations.
Outcome
CIS delivered a final report combining evidence, a model template, and a call to action for government and service providers. EACH used the report to inform its direct approach government for investment.
“It was clear from the start that CIS cared deeply about our success and worked tirelessly to achieve it.” Julie Dal Pra, Advisor – Financial abuse in business, and Small Business Financial Counsellor
