Challenge

Settlement Services International (SSI) has an outstanding track record in securing grants and tenders to fund programs that empower diverse communities. To maintain this success and prepare for increasingly competitive funding environments, SSI needed to strengthen the skills of its high-performing bid and tender team. The challenge was to equip the team with advanced techniques for scaffolding responses, embedding authoritative evidence, and pitching SSI’s impact story in ways that maximise assessment scores and efficiency.

Approach

CIS designed and delivered a customised training program comprising two half-day online workshops. Our approach included:

• Reviewing SSI’s past submissions and tailoring exercises to live bids, ensuring relevance and immediate application.

• Developing two interactive workshops to build capabilities directly targeted at increasing the competitive of grants and tenders

• Delivering two online half-day workshops with interactive sessions

Outcome

The training program was highly valued by SSI’s grants and tenders team, who reported increased confidence and efficiency in preparing submissions. Participants highlighted the Line of Sight tool, CLEAR framework, and feasibility assessment as particularly useful, noting that the customised, well-structured sessions equipped them with adaptable techniques to strengthen responses and sustain SSI’s strong track record in competitive funding.
